The WTA comms team was able to do our annual group hike again after a year off!
The trail to Sheep Lake was gorgeous. It's really well benched, almost flat, and has lovely views. We ran into a person hiking out who said they spotted an elk in the meadow visible below the trail so we spent some time looking for that before moving on.
Despite not seeing too many people heading in, we had plenty of company at the lake. But everyone had a spot to themselves, and we lounged on the sunny rocks looking at the gap for a long while before a group of us headed up to the gap.
The trail to the gap is steeper than that to the lake but still really well graded and went by quickly. From the gap, we saw a helicopter bringing loads back and forth from a worksite, and got a stellar view of Crystal Lake and Mount Rainier. We had another snack here and then headed back.
