LOG YOUR MILES

Visit the online mileage log to submit your Hike-a-Thon miles during the month of August.

To log your miles offline, download the mileage log form. At the end of August, mail the mile log to the address on the form. Mile logs must be received at the WTA office by September 7.

COLLECT OFFLINE DONATIONS

To submit offline donations, such as checks, download the offline pledge form. Mail all offline pledges to the address on the form at the end of August. Offline pledges must be received at the WTA office by September 7.

RECORD PLEDGES PER MILE/ PER HIKE

As your fundraising webpage does not allow you to track pledges by the mile or by the hike, you will need to use the Pledge by the Mile/Hike Form if you are collecting donations by mile, hike or hour. At the end of August, tally your pledges and ask your sponsors to either make their donations online via your webpage or with cash or check.

Mail the form and any offline donations to the address on the form at the end of August. Offline pledges must be received at the WTA office by September 7.

TAKE MILES THE MARMOT WITH YOU

Click here to download Miles the Marmot! Cut him out, attach him to a trekking pole or popsicle stick, and help him see the four corners of Washington. Snap photos of him and share them in your trip reports, on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (use the hashtags #washingtontrails or #hikeathon).

SUBMIT A PHOTO

One of the special award categories is Best Hike-a-Thon photo of hikers in action. All photos should contain hikers doing their thing — either on trail or with scenic surroundings. You can submit your photo by emailing your entry to miles@wta.org by September 6th. One photo per entry, please!

In September, we'll post 5 finalists on the Hike-a-Thon Facebook page. Members of the page will vote for the winner!

SUBMIT A TRIP REPORT

After going on a hike or attending a work party, submit a Trip Report. Trip Reports help other hikers know what to expect from a trail and inform WTA about what trails need maintenance work. The best reports tell people what kinds of conditions there are, tips and tricks, and includes photos and stories.

Win Prizes!

Prizes are awarded to leaders in different categories - such as number of miles hiked, amount of money raised, and number of trips reported on WTA’s Hiking Guide. Prizes for the 2021 event!
